Pink Christmas Tree

For A Really Colorful Christmas!

A pink Christmas tree? You can't be serious! I mean, pink goes on many things- roses, your daughter's bedroom walls, Barbie doll clothes, Pepto Bismol...

But Christmas trees?

I was amazed at how pink trees, even the "loud" types, have become popular in recent years. Go to a mall at Christmas and you may see one in a store. Just be sure to wear your sunglasses!

Actually, these pink artificial wonders are not a new phenomenon. When aluminum Christmas trees were popular in the 1960's, some manufacturers created them in pink. Today, vintage pink aluminum trees are hot items (i.e. expensive) on Ebay. (Read more about them here.)

But today's pink trees look more like they're made out of cotton candy. It reminds me of some of the trees I would see adorning Santa's "Winter Wonderland" at the department stores when I was a kid.

And people really like them. Hollywood celebs are being photographed with them in their houses. Even Martha Stewart profiled a pink tree in one of her magazines recently.

So why would you buy a pink Christmas tree?

Well, it's certainly a way to be different, to think outside the box. And you can bet your guests won't have to guess whether or not you have a real tree, they will know you don't.

Seriously, these trees do go well in girl's bedrooms. They also make a neat addition to a red- or pink-themed den. And you don't have to get a full-sized one. Why not just get a table top tree to put in a small room?

Leave it up past the holiday. You don't even have to take it down until...say...Valentine's Day!
